The economic empowerment of women is fundamentally a human rights and social justice issue, but it is also of crucial importance for poverty reduction, economic growth and human development as even today, woman remain to be an underestimated, unrecognized and underutilized resource in most business environments.
The economic empowerment for women depends upon woman’s access to resources and the skills for using them, custom-made mechanisms for their access to economic opportunities and the recognition and promotion of women as leaders and entrepreneurs.
The Woman Entrepreneurship Programme has the aim to enhance the capacities of female entrepreneurs in Macedonia and contribute to the creation of an enabling environment for their business activities;
This is to be done through 4 key services:
- Capacity building (training and mentoring) of women entrepreneurs;
- Day-to-day management support services and consultancy for woman entrepreneurs;
- Advocacy and lobbying to influence relevant policies thus improve overall conditions in the country for woman entrepreneurship (care economy division of labor, accessible child care services etc.);
- Enhancement of the public image of women as business leaders and entrepreneurs;
